Framing & Drywall in Tampa Bay

Framing, sheetrock, finishing and layout changes — the bones of every remodel, done right — in Tampa and all around it.

Framing and drywall are the two trades everything else in a remodel gets built on top of, and they're also the two trades where a shortcut is easiest to hide and hardest to live with later. A wall that's not plumb throws off every cabinet and tile line that goes against it afterward. Drywall hung crooked or finished with a rushed sand job shows up the first time afternoon light crosses the wall at an angle.

These are our own trades — framing and sheetrock, start to finish, whether it's part of a bigger remodel or the whole job on its own. Opening a wall to combine two rooms, adding a closet, framing a room addition, hanging and finishing drywall behind it — all one insured crew, no handoff between a framer and a separate drywall company.

What's included

Before we cut into anything, we look at what the wall is actually doing — some walls just divide space, and some are holding up what's above them. If a wall looks like it might be load-bearing, we'll tell you plainly and talk through what that means before any demo happens, rather than find out halfway through. Framing gets checked level, plumb and square as it goes up, because those three things are what every trade after us is going to measure against.

Drywall goes up in the right order — ceilings before walls, so the wall sheets support the ceiling edge instead of the tape carrying it alone — and joints are taped and built up in coats rather than filled in one pass. Florida humidity is hard on a rushed finish, so we let coats dry properly between passes instead of forcing a schedule that leaves moisture trapped behind the mud.

How we work

Look at the layout

We check what each wall is doing structurally before touching anything, and tell you plainly if a wall needs more than a simple removal.

Frame it

New framing goes up level, plumb and square, since every trade after us measures off of it.

Hang & finish drywall

Ceilings go up before walls, joints are taped and built in coats, and each coat dries fully before the next.

Texture & prep for paint

Texture is matched to the existing wall or ceiling, sanded flat, and left ready for primer and paint.

Framing & Drywall by city

Tampa Bay is several housing eras at once — a 1950s block ranch in St. Pete, a 90s two-story in Brandon and a brand-new Riverview build each remodel differently, and we work in all of them.

Common questions

How do I know if a wall I want removed is load-bearing?
That's part of what we check before any demo. If a wall is or might be load-bearing, we'll tell you plainly and talk through what needs to happen — we're not going to guess and find out mid-project.
Does Florida humidity affect how drywall is finished?
Yes — rushing coats before they're fully dry traps moisture behind the finish, and it shows up later as bubbling or cracking. We let each coat dry properly, which takes longer but holds up.
Do you take small jobs, like one closet or one wall?
Yes. A single wall, a closet, one room's worth of drywall — small jobs are normal work for us, not just something we do while waiting for a bigger one.
